This article lists third-party and independent candidates, also jointly known as minor candidates, associated with the 2028 United States presidential election. "Third party" is a term commonly used in the United States in reference to political parties other than the Democratic and Republican parties. An independent candidate is one not affiliated with any political party.
Unity Party[]
The Unity Party was created by Thomas Duberry in early 2026, and won several seats in the midterms that year. Early polling showed Duberry as a Unity Candidate receiving 14%, 24%, and 18% in the General Election. Following this, Duberry announced an exploratory committee for President- but later declined a run and endorsed Phil Reed in the general election.
Representative Scott Romney attempted to seek the nomination, but was expelled by the party for misconduct and leaking documents. Cascade Governor Heidi Cruz and former Yellowstone Governor John Kennedy both attempted to seek the nomination at some point in the campaign, but withdrew their candidacy. The primary was eventually won by Incumbent President Phil Reed, who also won the Republican and Libertarian Nominations.
