The 2026 Yellowstone gubernatorial special election was held on November 3, 2026, to elect the governor of Yellowstone. Incumbent Republican Governor NPC Republican was taken as a last resource replacement and as such the making of a special election was prefered by the local congress.
After the 2024 election, Republican Fred Johnson was elected as the governor with Jonathan Barney as the Lt. Governor, however, some time after Fred Johnson was discovered to be an alt account of Brandon Tucker and as such was unable to take office, since Jonathan Barney had been removed some time before and replaced with Vladik Kazakski who was unable to take office after he refused to resign from the house, for some time, John Kennedy was appointed to be governor by Vladik but due to high misconduct as a candidate he was barred from taking political office for some time, as such leaving the position on the hands of NPC Republican.
Former Lt. Governor Jonathan Barney won the Republican nomination, and Darth Vader ran as an independent candidate with the backing of the Unity and Democratic Parties. On the general election, Jonathan Barney would end up winning by a safe margin.
