The 2026 United States House of Representatives elections were held on November 5, 2024, to elect representatives from all 24 congressional districts across each of the 8 U.S. states to the 119th United States Congress. The election was done along with elections to the United States Senate and of state governors.
In the 2024 United States House of Representatives elections, the Democrats gained control of the chamber with 12 seats, compared to 8 seats of the Republicans, 3 seats of the Greens and 1 seat by an Independent. Leading up to the 2026 elections, multiple politicians changed parties and the Unity Party was formed who took multiple Democratic members, although most remained caucusing with them, the house changed to a 9R - 8D - 5U - 2I balance.
After the elections, the Republican Party gained control of the chamber and a supermajority despite an incumbent Republican president, Republicans gained 7 seats while the Democrats lost 2 seats, Unity lost 3 seats, and 1 independent was lost.
Aditionally, no seats were lost by the Republican Party.
Retirements and changes[]
5 out of the 6 incumbents did not seek re-election and choose to retire from politics.
Republican[]
One republican retired while 2 republicans moved to a different district.
- Appalachia 1: Mason Williams moved to Cascade's 3rd district.
- Magnolia 1: Ashley Dixon retired to run for U.S. Senator.
- Erie 2: Ethan Friedman moved to Erie's 3rd district.

Three democrats retired while 1 democrat moved to a different district.

Three out of the five Unity members did not seek re-election.
